SANTA ANA, Calif. — Yokohama Tire Corp. has introduced an all-position sanitation truck tire, the 506U, offering durability and tread life.
The 506U, which replaces the MY627W Spec-2, is available in size 315/80R22.5.
"The 506U delivers longer tread life, added durability and reduced operating costs for urban sanitation trucks and on/off-highway operations," Tom Clauer, Yokohama's senior manager of commercial product planning, said.
"It's specially designed for severe-service vehicle operations that require a high load-carrying capacity per tire."
The 506U also features:
- A wider tread pattern that incorporates a wide outside rib to resist tearing and rock shield platforms throughout the center grooves to reduce stone and debris penetration for improved casing life, durability and retreadability. An extra-thick sidewall helps prevent damage from curbs and potholes.
- An advanced tread compound to resist scrubbing, cutting and chipping for added tread life.
- Durable construction for retreadability along with a six-year unlimited retread casing warranty.
- Zig-zag circumferential grooves to enhance water evacuation to provide extra traction throughout the original tread life.
