SANTA ANA, Calif. — Yokohama Tire Corp. (YTC) will increase the price of select commercial truck and bus tires in the U.S. by up to 6%, effective Dec. 1.
The tire maker did not specify what "select" means but said the increase includes drive, all-position/steer and trailer tires.
This marks the second price increase YTC has announced recently. It said earlier that it plans to raise prices of consumer replacement tires sold in the U.S. by up to 5%, effective Nov. 1.
The tire maker did not cite a reason or reasons behind the increase.
In addition, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations is planning to raise prices on all radial Firestone truck and bus tires sold in the U.S on Nov. 1 by an average of more than 5%, with some prices by more than 8%.
