WAKEFIELD, Mass. — Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT), a division of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., has introduced the Galaxy LDSR 510 all-steel dozer and loader radial for surface mining.
The tire design combines extra-deep tread blocks and cut-resistant compound to deliver improved performance on rock and gravel surfaces, the company said.
The new, non-directional tread pattern provides traction in both forward and reverse, enhancing efficiency in digging, loading and carrying operations, according to Dhananjay Bisht, YOHT's product manager – earthmoving, construction and industrial tires.
"The Galaxy LDSR 510 also features high turn-up carcass construction, which increases lateral stiffness in the sidewall without compromising the benefits of the large, even footprint and low rolling resistance from radial design," Bisht said.
"The sidewalls are also reinforced against cuts and damage, which is important in rock mining and quarry operations, and deliver a stable, comfortable ride. Combined with the all-steel radial belts and plies, the construction of the LDSR 510 results in a tire that is extremely durable, long-lasting, and outstanding at dissipating heat."
The Galaxy LDSR 510 radial is available in sizes 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25. Pricing information was not disclosed.
