DIAMOND BAR, Calif. — SEMA's Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) will hold a webinar Feb. 17 to discuss the importance of the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports (RPM) Act to the wheel and tire industry.
Eric Snyder, SEMA's director of congressional affairs, will moderate a panel of wheel and tire experts who will share their first-hand experience and knowledge on the issue.
The motorsports industry has been vocal in advocating for the RPM Act, which is intended to ensure vehicle owners will be able to convert vehicles into racing vehicles, even if the vehicles are trailered to the track and are used exclusively for motorsports competition.
The initiative seeks to address industry concerns that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering using language in the Clean Air Act to ban street vehicles from being modified for competition purposes even if the vehicles are trailered to the track and are used exclusively for motorsports competition.
Other speakers include:
- Gary Ruede, technical supervisor with Discount Tire/America's Tire;
- Ryan Fuller, data analyst with Standards Testing Labs; and
- John Rastetter, tire information ambassador for Tire Rack and a member of the WTC Select Committee.
The webinar is set for 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 17. To register, see the SEMA website.
