DIAMOND BAR, Calif. — The Specialty Equipment Market Association's Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) is launching a webinar series focused on helping educate those who deal in tire and wheel issues, starting Nov. 18 with a discussion of load-carrying capacity and applications.
Gary Ruede, technical supervisor with Discount Tire/America's Tire, and Kent Hobson, TBC operations with Sam's Club, will provide fundamentals and tips on tire load-carrying capacity, a topic the WTC said can lead to confusion in the service bays.
Understanding the importance of the tire load index and inflation rules is essential for tire dealers, installers and resellers. Setting the correct air pressure and load-carrying capacity is vital to help avoid risks, the WTC said in its invitation.
The webinar — Tire Knowledge 101: Load Carrying Capacity and Applications — will start at 3 p.m. EST (noon PST) and run for approximately 30 minutes, the WTC said.
WTC Chairman Tyson Boyer will moderate the event.

The next webinar, scheduled for Dec. 16, will focus on wheels, the WTC said, specifically wheel construction, offsets, bolt patterns, installation and more. The WTC is inviting two experts on the topics to lead the discussion.
All of the sessions will be recorded and shared on the WTC's landing page at SEMA.org/WTC.
