CINCINNATI —Anna Wood, vice president and managing director of Cincinnati-based Tire Discounters, was recognized recently by the Cincinnati Business Courier as one of the leaders in the region in its annual class of Women Who Mean Business.
The Women Who Mean Business program celebrates women across a range of fields whose achievements over the past year are helping to transform their organizations as well as the greater Cincinnati region.
According to Tire Discounters, Wood has been an instrumental leader, working with President and CEO Jamie Ward to oversee day-to-day business. She's also managed several key initiatives this year, including the company's auto glass business "where she has championed a growth and re-branding strategy that will greatly accelerate the business in the coming months."
Wood also led Tire Discounters' emerging e-commerce platform, directing its growth and expansion, and serves on the company's creative council where she offers strategic guidance on marketing and ad campaigns.
"I'm honored to receive this recognition as one of the women who mean business in our area. The list of leaders that have been selected for this program over the years is incredibly impressive, and I am humbled to be included this year," Wood said.
"I look forward to continuing to dig in with Tire Discounters and drive our ambitious growth plans in 2023 and beyond."
Ward said the announcement was no surprise given Woods' natural leadership capabilities and significant contributions to the business.
"Anna has been a driving force for Tire Discounters as we look to expand key, strategic areas of our business under her leadership. I'm very proud of her development and achievements as one of our senior leaders. This recognition is spot on and well deserved," he said.
Anna Wood works alongside her brothers, Steven Wood and Evan Wood. All three are second-generation leaders and direct key business units across Tire Discounters. Steven Wood oversees the recently acquired Carriage House Car Wash division, and Evan Wood, who started as a tire technician, now holds various management roles across the business
Chip Wood founded the family-owned and operated company in 1976.
Tire Discounters now operates 181 retail outlets across 8 states. It is the eighth largest independent tire retailer in the U.S., according to Tire Business research.
The company has seen significant expansion this year, focused on the southeast and mid-Atlantic region, including the addition of seven new locations in the last few months.
