DORAL, Fla. — Retreading product supplier Vipal Rubber Corp. is rolling out a truck tire tread designed to address wear issues associated with retreads used in the waste industry and other "aggressive" applications.
The new product, the VT560, offers "high adhesion on different types of applications," Vipal said, and features "Eye Control" technology, which allows end-users to monitor treadwear by identifying anomalies in alignment, balance and geometry and provides a suggested time of use.
VT560 can be used on paved or unpaved roads and has a rubber compound providing abrasion-wear resistance, Vipal said. It's designed for use in drive-axle applications.
"This product that Vipal offers to the North American market meets the needs of fleet owners and managers who are looking for a product with these qualities both in terms of functionality and, mainly, durability and performance," Gabriel Fuma, commercial manager, Vipal NAFTA, said.
"The VT560 completes Vipal's portfolio with an innovative option aimed at the waste industry and other very aggressive applications."
It's available in six widths: 210, 220, 230, 240, 250 and 270mm.
Doral-based Vipal Rubber is the U.S. sales subsidiary of Brazil's Borrachas Vipal S/A.
