AUBURN, Maine — VIP Tires & Service is reshuffling its top management, promoting John Quirk to executive chairman and adding the title of CEO to President Tim Winkeler's duties.
Mr. Quirk previously held the titles of chairman and CEO, while Mr. Winkeler has been president and COO since November 2017.
VIP Tires — the third largest independent tire retail dealership in New England with 59 locations — also promoted Scott Pickard to chief financial officer from vice president of finance.
These changes were among several appointments VIP made recently, including:
Gary MacCausland to senior vice president of operations and merchandising (formerly vice president of operations); and
Allan Kirkland to chief financial officer of Quirk Automotive (formerly CFO of VIP).
In their new roles, Messrs. Quirk and Kirkland will focus on real estate management, store development and acquisitions, according to the company.
"These promotions reflect our company's commitment to growth, as well as to recognizing individuals for their leadership and contributions," Mr. Quirk said.
"Tim, Scott, Gary and Allan have all been a key part of our success, and they exemplify our company's commitment to the highest professional standards. Our team at VIP has never been stronger, and under Tim's leadership I am confident we will continue to grow, enhance profitability and continue to build our culture of ownership."
The promotions take effect Sept. 1.
Family-owned VIP operates throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, providing retail and wholesale tires and installation, and professional automotive services.
