CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Veteran journalist Shane Hoover has joined the staff of Tire Business.
Hoover, an award-winning writer who previously worked at The Canton (Ohio) Repository, joined Tire Business as a staff writer on Dec. 16. He will cover a variety of industry topics, as well as spearhead data research and reporting.
"Shane brings a wealth of journalist knowledge, integrity and overall talent to our industry," Tire Business Editor Don Detore said. "He is a welcome addition to our talented staff."
While at The Repository, Hoover reported on crime, local business, fracking and pipelines, and the opioid crisis. He won several Associated Press awards for business and feature writing and investigative reporting.
In addition to The Canton Repository, Hoover's work has appeared in The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, The Columbus Dispatch, Akron Beacon Journal, Dayton Daily News and on the Associated Press wire. He also appeared on Investigation Discovery's Fear Thy Neighbor true-crime series.
Hoover, a graduate of Kent State University, also produced two award-winning seasons of the podcast Tales from the Rep Morgue and two award-winning videos, including the documentary The Madam Must Die.
Hoover and his wife Sara live in Alliance, Ohio. He enjoys cycling, hiking, watching classic movies and producing the Bourbon Abroad podcast.
