CYPRESS, CALIF. — Toyo Tire Holdings of Americas Inc. has promoted industry veteran Michael Graber to lead Toyo Tires U.S.A. Corp.
Graber, vice president of sales since January 2020 for Toyo Tires U.S.A., becomes president and CEO of that business, the aftermarket sales unit for Toyo-branded passenger, light truck and commercial truck tires in the U.S.
He succeeds John Thomas, who left the company in November 2021.
Graber, who has over 16 years of tire industry experience, and his team will be responsible for replacement market sales, strategic sales planning, pricing, marketing, product planning and consumer affairs.

Graber called the appointment to lead the Toyo unit "an incredible honor."
"Our talented team is committed to exceeding the expectations of our dealer partners and loyal customers," he said. "We intend to build on our strong foundation while continuing to develop innovative products and deliver first class customer service."
Graber has been with Toyo for 8 1/2 years, serving as vice president, sales for almost 2 1/2 years. He joined Toyo in 2013 as a truck tire sales manager in Boston.
Prior to joining Toyo, Graber spent 3 1/2 years with Republic Services in Boston and seven-plus years with Group Michelin, serving as earthmover sales manager for the final two-plus years of his time there.
Tatsuo Mitsuhata, vice president of global sales at parent Toyo Tire Corp., said Graber's "broad background, including the last eight years of progressive responsibilities within (Toyo Tire Corp.), gives us confidence that Mike will be able to lead this critical unit in our most significant market.
"He has the knowledge and respect of our customers, understands the market and challenges we face, and is a great advocate for the Toyo Tires brand. Mr. Graber will continue our aggressive U.S. growth plans by maintaining our commitment to our dealers and customers."
Thomas, an experienced automotive mobility expert, was hired in April 2021 to head up Toyo Tire U.S.A. Toyo did not comment on the reasons for his leaving the company after only seven months.He now is CEO of Advanced Automotive Advisors L.L.C., a Los Angeles-based consulting firm.
Graber has a bachelor of arts degree in communication from John Carroll University in Cleveland and earned a master of business administration from Augsburg University in Minneapolis. He resides in Orange County, Calif., with his family.
