LAS VEGAS — Private- and import-brand tire distributor Tireco Inc. is adding to its Milestar Patagonia line with two light truck tire products announced during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
Milestar is set to release the Patagonia M/T-02, a second-generation product designed for real-world enthusiasts and professional rock crawling competitions, as well as the Patagonia A/T Pro, an all-terrarin version new to the lineup.
The M/T-02 will be available in 32 sizes, fitting 15- to 22-inch wheel diameters and up to F-Load Rating depending on the size.It will launch in key sizes later this year.
Meanwhile the A/T Pro will launch in the third quarter of 2022 in 63 sizes, from 15- to 22-inch diameters, and with up to F-load rating, depending on the size. It will come with a 55,000-mile limited treadwear warranty.
Tireco said the M/T-02 continues a tradition of high value, off-road enthusiast tires that "performs as promised."
The M/T-02 includes much of the original M/T design, yet integrates new tire technologies, the company said, and is built to be stronger, tougher and more pliable during aggressive rock-crawling, while maintaining a smooth, quiet on-road perfromance.
The tread design integrates cross-directional siping to improve tread block strength and resilience with a more stable footprint while reducing the risk of chunking.A new tread compound includes cut and chip resistance, allowing for longer tread life without sacrificing off road traction.
The tire will be offered in rim diameters of up to 22 inches and overal diameters of up to 42 inches.
Andrew Hoit, Tireco's vice president of sales and marketing, said the Patagonia M/T-02 has been five years in the making.
"After a successful launch of the original M/T, we dived head first into making it even better."
Meanwhile, Tireco said the A/T Pro is designed to work well on any terrain, in any condition, including snow, as the product carries the industry's 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake designation. The tire has a widened contact patch that maximizes road grip while improving off-road traction and on-road comfort.
The rugged and rigged tread blocks grip the terrain, the company said, while angled tread notches provide increased void surface area for superior mud and winter traction, Tireco said. Staggered step-down grooves give tread rigidity, enhancing stability and handling while protecting the groove from stone drilling.
Tireco said the product has 19/32nds-inch tread depth on LT metric sizes, while integrating Milestar's sidewall compound technology, Miletech, for enhanced strength and impact protection. The upper sidewall protects the tire from sharp rocks and provides additional sidewall grip and off road traction.
Mr. Hoit said the Patagonia lineup of light truck tires "is seeing great momentum out in the marketplace and we want to continue to deliver strong LT products at an amazing value."
