MOORESVILLE, N.C. — American Tire Distributors Inc.'s Tire Pros marketing program is returning to the motorsports scene next year, agreeing to sponsor JR Motorsports' driver Josh Berry for nine races in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series.
The 30-year-old Tennessee driver earlier this week was named the full-time driver of JRM's No. 8 Chevrolet for 2022. He raced under Tire Pros colors four times this year, securing a pair of runner-up finishes in the process, at Darlington (S.C.) Speedway on May 8 and again a week later at Dover International Speedway.
In 13 races in 2020 for JRM, Mr. Berry scored one win, at Martinsville Speedway, and added four top-five and nine top-10 finishes, leading 151 laps in the process.
"Tire Pros has been great. They've been big supporters of mine, and everything just clicked," Mr. Berry said. "They were a huge part of me getting the 12-race opportunity this year. It all fit together. They're a fantastic company that I'm proud to represent, so I am really thankful for them stepping up and making this happen."
There are over 600 points of sale throughout the U.S. flying the Tire Pros flag, making the network one of the largest groupings of independent and locally owned tire dealers in the U.S.
Mooresville-based JR Motorsports is the racing operation co-owned by NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. — a 26-time winner at NASCAR's highest level and 15-time most popular driver — Kelley Earnhardt Miller and NASCAR Hall of Famer Rick Hendrick. JRM team drivers have won the NASCAR Xfinity Series three times, in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
