Mr. Canter said his shop, about 2.5 miles from where the tornado hit downtown, has been busy fixing flat tires.
The town has been flooded with people coming into the area to help with recovery and and relief efforts.
"It's going to be alright. We're going to get through this," he said, adding that he has donated to some of the many fund-raising efforts to help storm victims.
Plaza Tire Service, which operates 70 retail stores in Missouri and three neighboring states, also escaped storm damage.
The dealership's store in Mayfield was not in the path of the tornado, according to Plaza Tire President Mark Rhodes.
He told Tire Business that the Mayfield store, and another store in nearby Benton, Ky., are offering free flat repairs to anyone and free services to emergency vehicles.
"It's the least we can do," Mr. Rhodes said, referring to the devastation in Mayfield, in particular.
The dealerships also are offering their parking lots as collection sites for donated supplies to help storm victims.
Meanwhile, Ron Katz, owner of three Midas shops in Florida and the 2021 Tire Business' Tire Dealer Humanitarian Award winner, is also helping out in the relief efforts.
He said on his LinkedIn page that he is turning his three stores, Midas of West Palm Beach, Midas of Cocoa Beach and Midas of Cutler Bay, into collection centers for relief supplies and accepting anything from blankets to generators.
"Cash donations are accepted and I'll use 100% of the money to buy items to send to the people in need," he wrote.
American Tire Distributors (ATD), which operates warehouses and distributes to tire dealerships around the country, issued this statement:
"Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the weekend's devastation, and our human resources team has been partnering with the field to assess the impact to our associates and facilities. We're pleased to share that all associates have reported being safe, and our facilities escaped any damage."
Through it's weCare Associate Relief Fund, ATD is focusing on helping associates who suffered property damage and loss. The company said it will match all new, one-time donations to the fund through the end of the year.
