BOWIE, Md. — Space is filling up for the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) retail tire store leadership training program beginning in October for managers, assistant managers and leads, but there's still a chance to register, organizers said.
TIA is working with training company MOHR Retail Inc. to offer the Zoom-based classes, which start Oct. 13 and run through Nov. 5.
The four-week class features two 2-hour sessions each week, from 10 a.m. to noon eastern time Tuesdays and Thursdays, and costs $750.
The class has four modules covering the role of the leader, setting performance expectations, improving below-standard performance and effective floor supervision.
There is a 16-person limit to the class, which requires at least nine participants. Those attending all eight sessions and do pre-work will receive a certificate.
Former TIA President Glen Nicholson, a former service technician, tire store manager, district manager and senior director of retail training for TBC Corp., will teach the class.
Registration for the class is available at tireindustry.org.
"Because there are a limited number of spots, we encourage interested dealers to sign up their managers as soon as possible," Christine Hoogenboom, TIA director of training, said.
