BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is adding a training class for retail tire store managers, assistant managers and leads to its range of educational programs.
The four-week class will debut online in October and comprise a pair of two-hour sessions each week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost is $750 per person.
TIA is working with training company Mohr Retail Inc., a Ridgewood, N.J.-based training company, to offer the Zoom-based classes, which will run the weeks from Oct. 13 to Nov. 5.
The class has four modules covering the role of the leader, setting performance expectations, improving below-standard performance and effective floor supervision.
There is a 16-person limit to the class, which requires at least nine participants. Those attending all eight sessions and do pre-work will receive a certificate.
Former TIA President Glen Nicholson will teach the course. He is a former service technician, tire store manager, district manager and senior director of retail training for TBC Corp.
Registration for the class is available at tireindustry.org.
Contact Christine Hoogenboom, TIA director of training, at [email protected] or 800-876-8372, ext. 106, for registration questions. Course questions can go to Mr. Nicholson at [email protected] or 561-951-6834.
