BOWIE, Md. — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) and MOHR Retail are launching a leadership training class geared at managers of multi-location tire operations, based on their popular retail and commercial tire store leadership programs.
The Virtual Retail Multiunit Management (vRMM) class will address leadership behaviors district managers and regional leaders need to "build a culture that prioritizes trust, resilience, inclusivity and safety," according to TIA.
With consolidation taking place in the tire industry, a class offering leadership training for managers of multi-unit retail locations was needed," Kevin Rohlwing, TIA's senior vice president of training, said. "We are excited to add this program for our members and the industry at large."
The classes are grounded in national research and will include "fresh insights and critical success attributes from major retailers at the forefront of navigating an environment of change and uncertainty," according to TIA.
Class sessions include: Role of the Leader, Developing Your Leadership, Motivating Managers with Below-Standard Performance, Coaching Coaches and Maximizing Store Visits. Classes will be taught by Glen Nicholson, a former automotive service technician, tire store manager and district manager and past senior director of retail training for TBC Corp.
The organizations will hold two vRMM class sessions in 2022 — on Wednesdays from March 23 to April 20 and on Tuesdays from Oct. 11 to Nov. 8. Classes will run from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. EST.
VRMM classes will cost $950 per student, including virtual facilitation, a Disc assessment and 90-day post-training microlearning.
