BOWIE, Md. — Tire Industry Association (TIA) is offering two in-person Advanced Hands-On Earthmover Tire Service training class this year.
"The hands-on courses allow students to leave with comprehensive knowledge that can only come from a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction," Kevin Rohlwing, TIA's senior vice president of training, said.
"We are happy to get back out in the field."
Classes are scheduled for Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 at Stellar Industries in Garner, Iowa, and Dec. 14 to 16 at AME International in Tampa, Fla. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and 8:30 a.m. to noon Fridays.
Training includes use of a service truck, hydraulic tools and other equipment needed to learn about working on earthmover tires.
Students will learn about service truck operation, preventative maintenance, site preparation and equipment, hydraulic tool operation and maintenance, rims and inspection. Those passing a final exam will receive a certificate. The cost is $595.
