BOWIE, Md.—The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added a Commercial Tire Service (CTS) instructor training and certification course in Louisville June 2-5.
The four-day, 400-level certified instructor training course covers all aspects of commercial tire service, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards, tire mounting and demounting, wheel installation and torque, road service, balance and repair, TIA said.
The program in Louisville is offered in addition to the four courses previously scheduled for Baltimore ( Feb. 4-7 and Nov. 17-20) and Denver ( April. 14-17 and Aug. 18-21).
All CTS courses start at 1 p.m. the first day, TIA said. However, students with fewer than two years of experience in servicing truck tires can sign up for a first-day morning session, which runs from 8 a.m. to noon. There, they will physically mount and demount a tire , and install and remove a wheel assembly from a truck using impact and torque wrenches.
