MIAMI — Tire Group International Inc. has launched a Cosmo brand extreme all-terrain tire, the Gripit XT, with an emphasis on deep mud and snow traction.
The Gripit XT is available in 14 sizes through Cosmo Tires' distributor network. Another 15 sizes will become available later this year.
The tire is designed for best-in-class performance, durability and smooth, quiet operation, according to Cosmo Tires.
"The Gripit XT is a best-in-class extreme all-terrain tire that outperforms major brands in every aspect of its performance," Mark Lindsey, Cosmo Tires' chief strategy officer, said.
"With its low noise signature, superior traction and durability, the Gripit XT is a true game-changer in the XT category."
The Gripit XT comes with a 50,000-mile warranty and is backed by Cosmo's hassle-free warranty, which includes free road hazard protection and a standard workmanship and materials warranty.
Cosmo Tires certifies the Gripit XT as "mud rated," claiming the tire has exceptional performance in deep mud and snow.
According to Cosmo Tires, the Gripit XT's other features include:
- An innovative shoulder lug design to increase traction in extreme conditions.
- Quiet Kat Technology for a quiet ride.
- An enhanced shoulder claw, more than 7.5 mm deep, for grip in extreme terrain.
- A bead claw to enhance bead retention and strength.
- Ultimate Tire Technology (UTT), a proprietary system that integrates bead reinforcement and structural enhancements for maximum durability.
- Directed Super Silica (DSS) and chip- and cut-resistant rubber compound to improve wet traction, lower rolling resistance and extend tread life.
- Customizable sidewalls available with raised black letters or indented black letters.
- Reinforced construction with a 3-ply sidewall and up to 12 plies of under-tread reinforcement on most sizes.
The Grip XT is produced in Thailand by Svizz One Corp. Ltd., according to the product's DOT code.
