CLEVELAND — TechNet Professional Automotive Service is calling on its member shops to support "Brakes for Breasts," a community-driven fundraising program supporting research for the Cleveland Clinic Breast Cancer Vaccine Fund.
TechNet-affiliated shops are offering customers $40 rebates on the installation of a set of Carquest Platinum Professional brake pads, and TechNet is encouraging those customers to donate the value of that rebate during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Rebates from the donation will support Dr. Vincent Tuohy's research efforts to develop a breast cancer vaccine and his philosophy of prevention.
This is the 10th year for Brakes for Breasts, which expects to pass the $1 million lifetime donation mark in 2020.
TechNet Professional Automotive Service is a "business solutions partnership" involving over 11,000 locally owned auto repair shops, which benefit from being part of a nationwide network. TechNet is a program run by Advance Auto Parts Inc.
