PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — TBC Corp. has upgraded its Arctic Claw Winter tire line with the WXI, which it claimes improves on the Arctic Claw Winter TXI and XSI on the market since 2014.
The Arctic Claw Winter WXI, which carries the tire industry's three-peak mountain (3PM) symbol for severe snow service, launches with 91 metric and LT sizes covering 14- to 20-inch rim diameters, TBC said.
Produced in Malaysia by Toyo Tire Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., the WXI features wide tread grooves and multiple sipes for enhanced traction in snow and slush versus its predecessor, TBC said with quantifying the improvement.
Designed to accept optional metal studs, the WXI provides additional grip and support in freezing rain, sleet and wet ice for drivers of coupes, sedans, CUVs, SUVs and light-duty pickup trucks. All sizes are T speed rated.
The 3PM designation is based on severe snow service requirements set forth by the U.S. Tire Manufacturers Association (USTMA) and the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada (TRAC).
TBC did not disclose pricing information.
