PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — Two subsidiaries of TBC Corp. — National Tire Wholesalers (NTW) and TBC Brands — collaborated with the United Way of Palm Beach County to provide hygiene kits to local communities.

The endeavor was part of the Make A Difference Day on Oct. 22. The day was established as an annual initiative in 1992 by the USA Weekend magazine.

Employees of NTW, TBC and United Way assembled 5,700 hygiene kits that included essentials such as shampoo, toothpaste, soap, deodorant and more. They also wrote words of encouragement for those who received the kits.

Scott Clark, senior vice president of logistics and supply chain for TBC Corp., said the company was pleased to engage deeper in their communities.

"This initiative speaks directly to our values as we believe in making a difference and look for ways to improve people's lives and make a lasting impact in the communities where we live and work," Clark said.

TBC said that corporate social responsibility is an integral part of its business units. In fact, it said one of the firm's core values focuses on leaving everything better. The company drives initiatives through its internal program, TBC Driven To Give.

NTW has supported the United Way of Palm Beach County since it was formed in 2018.

Laurie George, president and CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County, said the collaboration "shows the power of shared values for a better community coming together."
