PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. — TBC Brands is adding a mud-terrain tire, the Mud Claw Comp MTX, to its Delta, Eldorado and Multi-Mile brand programs, to replace the Mud Claw Extreme MT, which is being phased out.
The Mud Claw Comp MTX was designed to increase tire toughness while providing "superior" off-road grip, TBC said.
The MTX's tread includes self-cleaning stone ejectors and stylized shoulder blocks that blend with the sidewall contours to enhance both traction and visual appeal.
This second-generation tire launches with 30-plus light truck and flotation sizes covering 15- to 22-inch rim diameters, from LT235/75R15 to LT 305/55R20 and 30x9.50RLT to 37x13.50R22LT.
"Built for adventure, the Mud Claw Comp MTX's unique design provides responsive steering and stability on mud and loose-surface roads, making it the perfect fit for the growing popularity of mudding," Kyle Sanders, director of consumer product marketing, said.
"Offered in a greater range of sizes than its predecessor, it's ready to tackle the mud-traction trend."
Tires in the 18- to 20-inch range are built with a three-ply sidewall for enhanced strength and durability, TBC Brands said.
The Mud Claw Comp MTX is backed by a 55,000-mile/89,000-kilometer warranty package that includes free defect replacement during the first 50% of usable tread life.
TBC will offer the upgraded mud-terrain tire through its Delta-, Eldorado- and Multi-Mile-brand private-brand programs, but the tire carries no branding identifying those brand names, only the Mud Claw identifier.
The line is produced in Thailand by General Rubber (Thailand) Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of China's Jiangsu General Science Technology Co. Ltd., according to the tire's sidewall DOT code.
