LUBBOCK, Texas — Driven Brands Inc.'s Take 5 Oil Change, a quick lube operator with over 400 locations across the U.S. and Canada, recently acquired the six Bolton Oil Change locations in Lubbock.
With this acquisition, the company has eight locations in the Lubbock market, including two from the acquisition of Advance Kwik Lube earlier this summer.
Charles Bolton, the recent owner of Bolton Oil, and his family will continue to own and operate the Bolton gas stations that are next to the oil-change facilities.
"We truly respect the Bolton family and the brand that they've built in Lubbock," John Teddy, Take 5's vice president of strategy, said. "The shops focus on speedy oil change services and delivering great customer service; which are key commitments at Take 5 also.
"Our goal is to build on to what the Bolton family has already established through innovation and technology to create the ultimate oil change experience."
Take 5 said it is offering a 25% discount on oil changes for active-duty military service members and veterans.
"Honoring those who serve, and their families, has always been a core value of Take 5 Oil Change," Mr. Teddy said.
"We live these values not only by providing this unique discount to military customers, but by employing many military men and women, and by corporately partnering with military organizations for charitable giving. Our goal is to invest back into these stores, the local economy, and most importantly, our customers."
In all, there a 120 Take 5 Oil outlets throughout Texas, with more on the way. Charlotte, N.C.-based Driven Brands acquired Take 5 Oil in 2016 and has made the brand its core oil-change identity. Last year it began franchising the business as well.
