HUNTINGTON, Ore. — A franchised TravelCenters of America Inc. location has opened in eastern Oregon along Interstate 84 near Huntington, with plans to add a TA truck service center there in 2022.
The 12,000-sq.-ft. location, the sixth TA center in Oregon and 272nd in the TA network, will operate under franchise owner Karam Singh. The facilty, located about 85 miles northwest of Boise, Idaho, will bring 50 jobs to the area.
"The TA brand already has the trust of professional drivers and being part of the family means I can offer things like TA's loyalty rewards and fueling discounts," Mr. Singh said.
"I'm looking forward to becoming part of this community, bringing new jobs to the area and offering drivers a new place that is like home."
Barry Richards, president of Westlake, Ohio-based TA, said there is a need for the facility.
"We share Karam's excitement to become part of the community and provide a new place for drivers to find comfort while they're on the road and away from home," he said.
TA operates in 44 states and Canada, principally under the TA, Petro Stopping Centers and TA Express brands. The company announced plans in May 2020 to expand by franchising.
The company disclosed recently it signed 21 franchise agreements in 2020 and opened 10 franchise locations.
