FORT WORTH, Texas — Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. has opened a Driver's Edge Complete Tire & Auto Service location in Forth Worth, the second Driver's Edge location in that greater Dallas metro market.
The eight-bay, 6,000 square-foot facility is a greenfield construction, Sun Auto said.
This location, situated five miles from the existing Driver's Edge outlet in Forth Worth, brings the company to 21 Driver's Edge locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. The new location opened Dec. 6.
"Our roots are grounded in the Lone Star State, and the expansion we are experiencing in the Dallas-Fort Worth market is proof that the guarantees we make to each valued customer are met and exceeded," Area Manager Steve Powell said.
"Established right off (Interstate 35 West) and within the Alliance Corridor, our Basswood location will provide north Fort Worth's vehicle owners superior service and function as their dealership alternative."
Driver's Edge is offering customers 50% off tire alignments, $15 off oil changes and $5 off state inspections.
Sun Auto predecessor Greenbriar Equity Group L.P. acquired the Driver's Edge brand in July 2019, alongside Lamb's Automotive in Austin, Texas.
Driver's Edge is one of 10 automotive service brands Sun Auto operates, serving more than 1 million customers per year through more than 1,500 service bays in Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Virginia, Oklahoma and Washington.
The dealership's most recent expansion is its pending acquisition of Plaza Tire Service of Cape Girardeu, Mo. That deal, expected to close Dec. 31, includes Plaza's 70 retail stores spread across Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky and northern Arkansas as well as Plaza's wholesale business.
