HENDERSON, Nev. — Sun Auto Tire & Service has opened a third Sun Auto Service retail outlet in Henderson, increasing that brand's presence in the Las Vegas market to 10 locations.
Sun Auto Tire also operates 14 Tire Works-badged stores in the Last Vegas metro area, giving it 24 retail tire and auto service outlets there.
The new store in Henderson is a greenfield construction spanning 7,800 square feet and incorporating 14 service bays. The store is located on Volunteer Boulevard in a developing area of south Henderson, a city of 300,000 residents located roughly 15 miles south of central Las Vegas.
Sun Auto Tire did not disclose its investment in the new store nor say how many employees it expects to have there.
"Sun Auto Service's growth in the Las Vegas market is a testament the legacy we've built. We're a well-established option for car owners seeking high-quality, high-value automobile service," Scott D'Amico, area manager, Sun Auto Service, said.
"We take pride in what we do, and we want to be the place Henderson residents bring their vehicle any time it needs scheduled maintenance or repairs."
One of the 10 Las Vegas-area Sun Auto Service locations, in North Las Vegas, originally was a Tire Works store that was rebadged Sun Auto earlier this summer.
To mark the Henderson opening, Sun Auto is offering discounts on oil changes and parts and labor on selected repairs.
All told, Sun Auto Tire & Service — formerly GB Automotive — operates 213 retail tire and auto service locations in six states under 10 brands capable of accommodating over 1 million customers per year.
In September, private equity group Leonard Green & Partners acquired majority ownership in Sun Auto Tire from Greenbriar Equity Group Inc., which had founded the dealership entity in 2017 with the acquisition of Brake Max Car Care Centers of Arizona.
Greenbriar, which remains a shareholder in the enterprise, acquired Tire Works in 2018 and Sun Auto in 2020.
