KOBE, Japan — Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd. (SRI) has promoted Lubin Ozoux to CEO and executive director of Sumitomo Rubber South Africa Ltd. (SRSA), succeeding Riaz Haffejee, who's retiring after eight years at the helm ofthe South African subsidiary.
Currently group director of sales and marketing at SRSA, Mr. Ozoux started at the company in 2017 as director of exports in Africa, tasked with expanding the company's footprint throughout the continent.
Durban, South Africa-based Sumitomo Rubber S.A. distributes Dunlop-, Sumitomo- and Falken-brand tires throughout Africa.
Mr. Ozoux, who worked for Hilti Corp. for 11 years in an international role, gleaning experience in sales, marketing, engineering and management, will take over the roles Jan. 1.
Mr. Haffejee will remain with SRSA through January 2021 to assist with the leadership transition, according to the SRI board of directors.
He joined SRSA in 2012 after working in the automotive and communications industries in South Africa.
