NORWELL, Mass.
Sullivan Tire & Auto Service has acquired the retail and wholesale operations at C&R Tire in Worcester and Sturbridge, Mass.
The addition of C&R's two auto service centers increases the number of retail locations Sullivan Tire operates throughout New England to 77.
C&R Tire's Worcester location is 25,000 square feet, including a warehouse and 15 service bays. The Sturbridge location is 9,600 square feet with seven service bays and a car wash.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Former C&R Tire owner Jim Chew and most of the staff will be staying on as part of the Sullivan Tire team, the company said. The dealership dates back to 1946; the Chew family has operated C&R Tire since 1975.
"I'm thrilled to become part of the Sullivan Tire team," Chew said. "I've been doing business with Sullivan Tire for years and going from one family business to another is a natural fit for C&R Tire. I know both our retail and wholesale customers will be served well with this transition."
Sullivan Tire said it plans to renovate both C&R Tire locations, which will remain open during renovations.
In addition to its 77 retail locations, Sullivan Tire operates 15 commercial truck centers, three wholesales distribution centers, 14 wholesale satellite locations, two truck tire retread plants and two LiftWorks facilities.
