PENN YAN, N.Y. — Steve Shannon Tire & Auto Center has acquired Trombley Tire & Auto, a Penn Yan-based family-owned business with six locations in the Finger Lakes area of New York.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Trombley Tire stores are the first outside of Pennsylvania for Bloomsberg, Pa.-based Steve Shannon Tire and expand the dealership's store retail network to 30 locations.
Trombley Tire was established in 1960 in Penn Yan, N.Y., by the late Richard Trombley and until being sold was co-owned by his sons Tim and Ed Trombley. Richard Trombley died in 2016.
Over the years, the predominantly Goodyear-oriented dealership added stores in Seneca Falls (1987), Geneva (1994), Canandaigua (1999), and Cortland and and Ithaca, N.Y. (2017).
The Trombley Tire stores are located roughly 60 miles north of Steve Shannon's most northerly stores in Pennsylvania, in Mansfield and Towanda.
Steve Shannon also operates five wholesale centers operating under the STW Wholesale identity.
