DIAMOND BAR, Calif. — The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is hosting a webinar Oct. 13 during which SEMA executives will discuss the trade group's latest research project, the "State of Specialty-Automotive Retail."
The webinar, part of SEMA's Industry Insight Series,is scheduled for 2 to 3 p.m. EDT.
During the webinar, members of the SEMA Market Research team will discuss market trends and other findings that the latest research report reveals.
Among the topics expected to be discussed are:
- Retail in the U.S. economy: A review of available government data and online retail sales, the importance of the automotive sector within retail and how recent events have affected retail sales in the economy overall.
- Specialty-equipment retail overview: A look at data for sales by products, vehicles, consumers and purchasing channels specific to the automotive specialty-equipment market.
- Trends to Watch: Emerging trends in retail that may affect the specialty-equipment parts market.
- Implications for businesses and what businesses need to know.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer sessions with the SEMA Market Research team and receive a realistic outlook on how consumers are buying specialty-automotive parts for their vehicles.
Automotive is the single biggest retail segment in the U.S., accounting for over $1.2 trillion in retail spending in 2020, according to the study. That amount of spending equates to 20% of total U.S. retail spending of 6.2 trillion, SEMA said.
