Roadside-assistance firm FYX Fleet hires new CEO

PRINCETON, N.J. — Trac Intermodal, a marine chassis pool manager and equipment provider, has hired Kenneth Forster to be CEO of FYX Fleet Roadside Assistance, its roadside-assistance solutions business.

Mr. Forster, who's moving to FYX from Mode Transportation in Dallas, succeeds Rodney Goderwis, who is retiring after 37 years with the company, including the last 20 as vice president of FYX (formerly Trac Interstar).

The move is effective Feb. 8. Florence, Ky.-based FYX provides emergency fleet services, including tire work, for the intermodal and over-the-road trucking industries.

"He has a stellar reputation for building successful teams and leveraging his expertise in operations, business analysis and financial management. His skillset is ideal to help FYX identify and capitalize on further growth opportunities."

FYX was rebranded from Trac Interstar in 2019. Besides emergency roadside assistance, the firm has a platform that helps fleet managers and owner-operators access repair services and receive service updates.

The rebranding followed TRAC Intermodal's 2018 acquistion of tire-service assets of Core Fleet Inc., a deal that allowed TRAC to provide tire wholesale, service, parts distribution and retreading to the intermodal and commercial trucking industries.

Mr. Forster was chief operating officer at Mode Transportation. Prior to that, he served as CEO of three companies.

"Demand in the intermodal and trucking sectors is at an all-time high, which makes this an ideal time to optimize FYX's many assets and take it to the next level," Mr. Forster said.
