CLEVELAND — First Brands Group L.L.C., a global auto parts producer whose holdings include wiper maker Trico Inc., has acquired Brake Parts Inc., which manufactures and markets brake products, including Raybestos-brand parts.
First Brands also acquired Champion Laboratories Inc., a full-line filtration manufacturer with LuberFiner its leading brand.
Financial details of the deals were not disclosed.
Guy Andrysick, chief marketing officer at First Brands Group, called Raybestos and LuberFiner "important and natural complements" to First Brands' portfolio of vehicle maintenance and vehicle repair product solutions.
First Brands — formerly Crowne Group L.L.C. — has owned windshield wiper maker Trico since 2014, and has built an auto supply company since with a number of other acquisitions and investments.
Besides Raybestos, BPI goes to market with the AIMCO, American Brakeblok, BrkePro and Vortex brands.
The product range covers brake pads, calipers, drums, brake shoes, hub assemblies, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, hoses and cables, trailer brakes and related hardware.
Other automotive aftermarket brands under First Brands' umbrella include FRAM filtration products, Carter fuel and water pumps, ANCO wiper blades, StrongArm lift supports and Autolite spark plugs.
