LEHI, Utah — Podium, an interaction management platform for local businesses, has launched Teamchat, a new communication system.
According to Podium, Teamchat will help local businesses centralize company interactions and allow employees to collaborate internally within the same platform they use to interact with customers and vendors.
"With Teamchat, internal teams can exchange direct messages and group messages, include clickable links, send and receive attachments, and use mentions to help simplify and streamline internal communications," Podium said.
"The solution centralizes interactions between team members, as well as between the company and customers," it said.
By centralizing interactions, employees can conveniently collaborate and turn leads into customers, Podium said.
"Having conversations and sending information in context leads to better service for customers than simply sending memos, and convenient communication can help employees feel more engaged in work and improve camaraderie among coworkers," the company said.
Founded in 2014, Podium is working with more than 37,000 businesses creating more than 12 million customer interactions every month, according to the company.
Nearly one in four U.S. smartphone owners have connected with local businesses via Podium's platform, it said.
