KIRKWOOD, Mo. — Plaza Tire Service has opened a retail store in Kirkwood, its 15th location in the greater St. Louis area and 67th overall throughout its four-state business area.
The new store in Kirkwood — an "inner-ring" western suburb of St. Louis with roughly 28,000 inhabitants — spans roughly 6,400 square feet and has eight service bays. Plaza Tire razed a structure that occupied the site previously and built the new store there.
The privately held company did not disclose its investment in the project.
"As we continue to grow and open new stores, our main focus is always customer satisfaction," Plaza Tire Vice President Scott Rhodes said.
"Our stores feature large windows that overlook the shop area for customers to see what's happening as our technicians service their vehicles. We also offer numerous seating options, televisions and complimentary WiFi to ensure customers are comfortable in our showroom area."
Plaza Tire Service has furnished the shop with state-of-the-art equipment to handle tire installations and repairs, wheel balancing, alignments, brakes, shock and strut replacements, oil changes, battery replacements and more. It has capacity to store about 2,000 tires on site.
Plaza Tire operates stores throughout Missouri and in southern Illinois, western Kentucky and northern Arkansas. With 67 stores, Plaza Tire is considered the 18th largest independent tire retail dealership in the U.S.
