WEST SUSSEX, England — Pirelli & C. S.p.A. will be the exclusive tire partner for the Goodwood Festival of Speed — the "world's largest automotive garden party" — scheduled for July 13-16 at the Goodwood House in West Sussex.
Pirelli and Goodwood Estate signed a multi-year partnership for the annual event, which features more than 600 cars and motorcycles spanning the history of motoring and motorsports, organizers said. This year marks the 30th year for the Goodwood Festival.
Pirelli will have two exhibition spaces at the festival that will feature Pirelli's 150-year history and its iconic P Zero family of tires. Pirelli will use the event to preview three new products that it said reflect the "imminent renewal" of Pirelli's entire high-end product range.
"As the leader in the prestige tire market and the official supplier of tires to F1, the pinnacle of motor racing, we are excited to have (Pirelli) on board for the 30th anniversary of Festival of Speed," Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, owner of Goodwood, said.
Among the highlights of the five-day event are a concours d'elegance, Formula 1 paddock, a classic car auction, a forest rally stage and the annual hill climb.
Financial terms or length of the deal were not disclosed.
Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli executive vice chairman and CEO, called the partnership a "good fit" for the company.
"As a market leader in high-end tires, Pirelli feels at home among the world's leading premium and prestige car makers. This also goes for the festival's attention to motorsport, an area we have been involved in since 1907.
"Finally and importantly, we identify with and appreciate the festival's interest in new forms of sustainable mobility, as we are focused on developing new technologies to make mobility ever more sustainable."
