BURBANK, Calif. — Custom car fabricator West Coast Customs has selected Turbo Wholesale Tires as the official tire provider for the business that was the focus of the "Pimp My Ride" series on MTV in the mid-2000s.
Burbank-based West Coast Customs, under the direction of founder and CEO Ryan Friedlinghaus, has built the business into a global brand that continues to serve a wide array of clientele, ranging from pro athletes and celebrities to Fortune 100 companies.
"West Coast Customs have always been known for stunning work and innovation, and like our tire brands, impeccable quality and cutting-edge technology," Turbo Wholesale Tires CEO Phillip Kane said.
"We look forward to working with West Coast Customs and are thrilled to see our Lexani Performance tire and RBP tire products on West Coast Customs builds."
In business since 1983, Irwindale, Calif.-based Turbo Wholesale Tires has evolved into a national and international supplier of its proprietary tire brands, Lexani Performance, RBP and Lionhart. It distributes its products from a 300,000-sq.-ft. warehouse.
The firm recently attracted private-equity firm Kingswood Capital Management L.P. as an investor and brought on board industry veterans Phillip Kane and Larry Jeffries as chief executive officer and president, respectively.
Friedlinghaus said he is excited about his company working with a firm with West Coast roots, noting: "Lexani Tires have been part of the West Coast car culture for many years and their brands have been at the forefront of size and tread pattern creation; this partnership truly expands the range of possibilities for our clients, and theirs as well."
