Omni United launches Radar-branded all-terrain tire

DALLAS — International tire distributor Omni United Pte. Ltd. is launching the Radar Renegade A/T Pro, an all-terrain product with dual sidewall design.

The all-terrain replacement tire, designed for SUV and light-truck fitments, features a rattlesnake-inspired sidewall that allows customers to determine the look of the vehicle.

The "fang" side features a snake head design for increased traction, while the "rattle" side has a tail design for increased protection, according to Omni United President and CEO GS Sareen.

"The Renegade A/T Pro has been designed using a biomimetics approach taking inspiration from nature," Sareen said. "We felt the rattlesnake best embodied the grip and quiet, yet aggressive features of the tire."

The tire has a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty, a road-hazard warranty for all sizes and a UTQG rating of 540 AA – 540 AB. It is manufactured in Thailand.

Initially, the tire will be available in 17 sizes covering 17- to 22-inch rim diameters and up to an F-load range. Omni will release 21 additional sizes in the second and third quarters of 2022.

The tire has an interlocking tread design that provides on/off road traction and stability, while the wide center tread blocks also add off-road stability and on-road handling, according to the company.

It also has stone-ejector features to reduce stone retention and body damage.

Some of the targeted fitments include the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma and Dodge RAM 1500.

The A/T Pro joins a Radar Renegade line that also offers the Renegade R/T and Renegade R7 M/T, and will be expanded later this year with the Renegade X, which will cater to OTR enthusiast and feature a "stealth" inspired tread-block design, combining aesthetics and performance attributes.

In early December 2021, Omni announced it is collaborating with Italian design house GFG Style to "challenge the status quo in the industry" and add "sophistication and contemporary design" to the Radar line. The Renegade-X will be the first tire that is a product of that collaboration.

The design house, founded by father and son duo of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Guigiaro, is known for its success in designing vehicles for high-end original equipment manufacturers, according to Omni.

The Renegade X will be available in more than 40 sizes, covering rim diameters of 16 to 30 inches. The company plans to launch a high-performance tire for sport, passenger cars and SUVs, targeting early 2023 for that launch.
