DAYTON, Tenn. — Nokian Tyres is again teaming up with POWDR ski resorts to plant trees in areas impacted by deforestation.
It's the fourth year the two companies have partnered with organization One Tree Planted to protect scenic areas with the "Buy a Pass. Plant a Tree. Play Forever" program.
Guests who purchase 2024-25 qualifying season passes at participating POWDR resorts, while passes are being offered at a discounted rate, will have a tree planted on their behalf. The program applies to passes purchased before or during the resort's discounted price windows.
In the first three years of the program, Nokain and POWDR "have helped restore hundreds of acres of deforested land and supported efforts to combat soil erosion, the effects of a beetle epidemic and the ongoing degradation of riparian areas across the United States," the tire maker said.
"We are passionate about keeping drivers safe, and our definition of safety extends to the environmental areas where their journeys take place," Nokian Tyres North America Director of Marketing Hans Dyhrman said. "It's invigorating to work with a partner like POWDR to advance the journey to a safer world."
POWDR Vice President of Partnerships Meghan Matschke said: "It has been wonderful to be able to see a direct, meaningful impact in carbon sequestration with forests that need our restoration support the most. We are excited to continue making a difference with this year's trees as well."
