    N'Fera Sport R

RICHFIELD, Ohio — Nexen Tire America Inc. is expanding its consumer tire portfolio with a new ultra-high-performance radial and an all-weather highway-terrain light truck/SUV tires.

The new tires, the N'Fera Sport R and Rodian HTX2, broke cover at the 2021 SEMA Show, where Nexen is an exhibitor.

The N'Fera Sport R replaces the N'Fera SUR4G in Nexen's lineup, boasting faster all-around performance and improved grip thanks to a larger contact area, resulting in an increase of 4% more ground contact area than the SUR4G, which is used in Formula Drift competition.

The N'Fera Sport R also features a fine-grade, high-carbon black composition combined with a higher filler loading to achieve faster warm-up times while on the track. It is W speed rated, comes in a range 13 sizes covering 15- to 19-inch rim diameters.

The Roadian HTX2 Highway-Terrain is a second-generation of the H/T product line, offering a "plethora" of new and improved features.

Nexen said the HTX2 is designed for the next generation of light trucks and SUVs, providing enhanced durability and all-weather driving performance. It also carried the industry's 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol indicating severe-winter traction capabilities.

The HTX2 launches with 51 sizes in R, S, T and H speed ratings and covering 16-to 22-inch rim diameters. It is available in two sidewall design options.

Nexen is backing the tire with a 70,000-mile tread warranty for P metric and a 50,000-mile tread warranty for LT metric sizes, plus road-hazard protection for the first 3/32nds-inch of tread or two years and 36-month roadside assistance.

    Pricing information was not disclosed.
