QINGDAO, China — Qingdao Nama Industrial Co. Ltd. is adding an M/T mud-terrain version of the Maxxploit light truck tire lineup that's headlining the Chinese company's strategy to re-establish itself in North America.

Qingdao Nama, which is in the process of establishing a U.S. representative office in the Los Angeles area, said the Maxxploit M/T will be available six sizes covering 18-, 19-, 20- and 22-inch rim diameters starting in October.

Additional sizes in 15-, 17- and 26-inch rim diameters are in the planning stage, Nama said.

The M/T complements the R/T rugged terrain model launched recently. The tires are available by container-load order only. Both models are produced by a third-party contract manufacturer in Vietnam.

    The first six size available will be: 33*12.50R20LT; 35*12.50R20LT; 33*12.50R18LT; 35*12.50R18LT; 35*12.50R20LT; and 35*12.50R22LT.

The Maxxploit M/T features three-ply construction, high turn-up for "excellent" handling, durability and impact resistance; an "aggressive" tread design with combined blocks for grip and traction in off-road conditions; deep siping in the tread blocks for maintaining grip on wet conditions.

Nama did not disclose pricing information at this time.

Nama's range for North America eventually will include the Maxmach UHP, Maxnova Touring and Maxatggres H/T passenger tires, the company said.
