Myers Tire Supply, a business unit of Myers Industries Inc., has become a member of Federated Auto Parts, a partnership the enterprises said will grow service offerings and increase customer value for both companies.

Paul Johnson, business vice president, Myers Distribution, said the partnership will benefit Myers Tire Supply, Myers Tire Supply International and Tuffy Manufacturing greatly with enhancements in training, product offering and extended network support.

Akron-based Myers Tire Supply is a distributor of tools, supplies and equipment to the tire service market, offering customers more than 40,000 products through its multiple distribution centers and international branches.

The company did not comment on the expected revenue impact of the partnership. Myers' Distribution Segment, which includes Myers Tire and Tuff, reported sales of $166.5 million in fiscal 2020.

"On behalf of the Federated staff and membership, I am pleased to welcome our newest member, Myers Tire Supply," Federated Auto Parts Distributors, Inc. President Sue Godschalk said. "We look forward to supporting the needs of this great organization along with those of their customers."

Staunton, Va.-based Federated Auto Parts is considered the largest auto parts distribution and marketing organization in North America with over 4,000 affiliated auto parts stores across the country.

Separately, Federated disclosed its celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) with a yearlong Federated 50/50 Challenge promotion, awarding $50 per week for 50 weeks to both ASE-certified parts specialists and ASE-certified technicians.

As an added bonus, Federated will also award $500 each to an ASE-certified parts specialist and an ASE-certified technician during weeks 51 and 52 of the promotion.

"ASE-certified technicians and parts specialists are the cornerstones of Federated Car Care Centers and Auto Parts stores," Phil Moore, senior vice president of Federated Auto Parts, said.

"ASE certification is a sign that an automotive professional has achieved accreditation and recognition within the industry and more importantly, it validates their knowledge and competency."
