PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — Mighty Distributing System has promoted Matt Shaw to vice president of sales and Chris Adams to chief revenue officer.

Shaw, who joined Mighty as director of sales in 2020 and was promoted to senior director of sales in 2021, is succeeding Mike Hudgins, who is retiring after 35 years with the company.

Shaw has supported the Mighty System with his sales experience with traditional, fleet and new car dealership customers, along with his knowledge of the chemical, detail and equipment side of the business, Mighty said.

He spent a significant amount of time working to make Mighty Auto Parts' relaunch of the VS7 program and he was instrumental in bringing on Flo-Dynamics as a supplier, all while establishing key relationships with franchises and national and regional accounts, the company said.

Prior to joining Mighty, Matt worked for West Direct Oil in Denver as director of sales, serving the state as a Mighty franchise, CarBrite appearance products distributor, Valvoline exchange chemical distributor, and wholesale lubricants provider with brands including Valvoline, Shell, Petro Canada and others.

Shaw began his automotive career in 2002 working for Big O Tires in Evergreen, Colo., and bought his first franchise location in Thornton, Colo., at age 24, making him at the time the youngest owner in the franchise's history. Three years later, he leveraged that into ownership of multiple locations in Des Moines, Iowa, where he would become chairman for the Midwest region.

Hudgins started his career with Mighty in 1978, working in a company warehouse in North Carolina. He moved into sales shortly thereafter and eventually rose to vice president, tasked with a number of sales-, national accounts- and training-related activities.

    Chris Adams

Adams joined Mighty in January 2020 as vice president, franchise development, and shortly thereafter was promoted to vice president, franchise development and operations, tasked with helping manage franchise operational support.

As chief revenue officer, he will assume responsibility for Mighty's sales department.

Prior to joining Mighty, Adams spent 16 years at GreatAmerica Financial Services Corporation, which provides equipment financing to the automotive, health care, office equipment, construction, and communication industries.
