Midas franchisees give back for holiday

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Two Midas of St. Petersburg locations are accepting donations to help a local family, the Youngs, who opened their home to four adopted and five foster children age range from 2 to 12 years.

Adam Ford, owner of two Midas locations in St. Petersburg, said the business has obtained a 12-seater van, which it is refurbishing for the Young family and plans to donate to them at the beginning of December.

Mr. Ford is asking for donations at both of his Midas locations in St. Petersburg, at 5844 4th St North or 290 34th St. North through Dec. 1.

Midas of Grafton in Gafton, Wis., will be "repairing Santa's Sleigh" to benefit local food supplier Family Sharing of Ozaukee with a food drive Nov. 29 from 1-4 p.m.

Families are invited to visit with Santa, who will address each child by name. Families are asked to bring a half sheet of white paper for each child with their first name clearly printed in bold black lettering, and discretely hold it up for Santa to read (Santa will be a safely social distanced area 10 feet away).

Along with food donations, Midas of Grafton also asks guests to consider a monetary donation. For the first 100 donations of $20 or more, the Midas location will give each family donating a certificate for one free conventional oil change with tire rotation.

Grafton is a northern suburb of Milwaukee.
