CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — It's been quite a year in the tire industry — and we've just reached the halfway point.
Be sure to join Tire Business Managing Editor David Manley and Special Projects Editor Bruce Davis as they review the industry at mid-year.
They will discuss a variety of compelling topics, including a review of yesterday's big news: The U.S. Department of Commerce has voted to initiate antidumping and countervailing duty investigations to determine whether passenger and light truck tires from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam are being dumped in the U.S.
The United Steelworkers union filed petitions in early May, claiming tire producers from these regions are dumping their products in the U.S. at margins ranging from as low as 5.48% (Vietnam) to as high as 217.5% (Thailand).
In addition, Messrs. Manley and Davis will take a look at other issues facing the tire and aftermarket industries at the year's midpoint, including pricing, supply issues and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
