STOW, OHIO — Goodyear subsidiary Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels said it has signed to become a founding member of Performance Racing Industry (PRI), the motorsports industry's source for trends, merchandising ideas, new products, business strategies and more.
Mickey Thompson calls PRI "the voice of the racing industry in North America," through its national trade show, advocacy efforts and awareness campaigns.
Dominick Wycoff, president of Mickey Thompson,said PRI "does important work, and this commitment demonstrates our unwavering support to an industry we feel is critical to driving innovation within the entire automotive space."
Mickey Thompson is known for its innovation since it was founded in 1963. The company's founder, Mickey Thompson, was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, as well as the Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame.
PRI President Jamie Meyer said PRI founding members "are the backbone of the motorsports industry, and they play a critical role in our mission to build, promote and preserve the racing community."
PRI, founded by racing entrepreneur Steve Lewis, was purchased by Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) in 2012.
