GREENVILLE, S.C. – Michelin North America Inc. is introducing a new version of the company's mining tire for 250-ton rigid dump trucks.
The latest generation of the Michelin XDR 250+ features improved wear resistance, optimized wear and increased aggression resistance, the company said.
The new version is available in a 50/80R57 size and increases tire life by 8% for MB4 and MB compounds without any tradeoff in tons-miles per hour (TMPH) compared with the Michelin XDR 250, the company said.
A second generation of the two compounds provides improved wear resistance due to a "new mixing process with a superior level of carbon black dispersion creates a much more homogeneous mix that leads to a slower wear rate," Greenville-based Michelin said.
