GREENVILLE, S.C. — Michelin North America Inc. has rejuvenated its Uniroyal-brand commercial tire brand with the launch of new versions of the brand's drive, steer and trailer tires.
The new lines — the Uniroyal LT2 Line Haul Trailer, RS2 Regional Steer tire and RD2 Regional Drive tire — were designed to appeal to the "cost-conscious buyer" who is looking for reliability, durability and value in a trusted brand, Coy Jones III, senior marketing manager for Michelin North America, said.
At the same time, Michelin redesigned the brand's website, uniroyaltrucktires.com, to make it easier for customers to find dealers that carry the new products or to contact Uniroyal representatives.
The line features new tread designs across the three lines. Michelin is backing the SmartWay-verified products with a limited four-year, two-retread warranty.
Pricing information was not disclosed.
The products are available at authorized Uniroyal truck tire dealers, in both standard and low-profile sizes for 22.5- and 24.5-inch rim diameter SKUs, Michelin said, with 17.5- and 19.5-inch versions of the RS2 Regional Steer and RD2 Regional Drive tires available to support last-mile-delivery fleets.
Additional offers will be coming later in the year, to address the needs of fleets for line-haul drive-tire position and on/off road commercial truck tire applications, Michelin said.
Michelin revived Uniroyal as a truck tire brand in the U.S. in 2016.
