COLUMBIA, Mo. — Big O Tires franchisee MFA Oil Co. has divested the eight Jiffy Lube quick-service oil change stores it operated in mid-Missouri to Allied Lube Group, one of the nation's largest Jiffy Lube franchisees with over 100 stores.
MFA Oil has owned and operated its Jiffy Lube franchises through its subsidiary MFA Petroleum Co. since 1990. The deal comprises four locations in Columbia, two in Jefferson City and one each in Fulton and Sedalia, Mo.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
"Our Jiffy Lube franchise has long served as a valuable contributor within MFA Oil," Ed Harper, MFA Oil's vice president of retail automotive, said, "but we have been operating two different automotive service brands and this transaction will allow us to focus our attention and resources on our Big O Tires stores where we see great opportunity for growth."
Houston-based Allied Lube Group operates 108 service centers throughout Texas, Iowa and Missouri.
"The acquisition of eight Jiffy Lube service centers in Missouri supports our strategic growth plans, and allows us the opportunity to provide quick, convenient service that consumers need to maintain their vehicles," Richard Paek, CEO of Allied Lube Group, said.
MFA Oil, a farmer-owned co-op whose main business is supplying fuel and lubricants to its members, recently opened Big O Tires stores in Sedalia and Lebanon, Mo., expanding its network of Big O Tires outlets to 22 throughout its three-state territory of Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
