DANVERS, Mass. — Maxam Tire North America Inc. is expanding the size range of its AgriXtra 65 and 70 series RW1 radial agricultural traction tires.
Maxam is adding a pair of sizes — 600/65R34 and 650/65R38 — to the 65 series family. Like the 70 series, the 65 series tires feature a wide profile for high flotation and "superior" traction, Maxam said.
The 65-series is built with premium rubber compounds that reduce ozone cracking and weathering, yielding decreased tire wear rates. Developed with the user in mind, the AgriXtra 65 series provides minimal soil disturbance through its wide footprint that maximizes flotation during every rotation.
Maxam is adding seven sizes to the wide-base AgriXtra 70-series, which is engineered to deliver extra flotation and traction. The self-cleaning wide tread design features 45-degree lug profiles for "excellent" field traction and minimized vibration while being operated on road.
The new sizes are: 260/70R16 - 109D; 260/70R20 - 113D; 280/70R16 -12A8/B; 280/70R18 - 114D; 280/70R20 - 116D; 300/70R20 - 120D; and 620/70R42 - 166D.
The addition of these sizes — expected by spring 2023 — will enlarge the size range for the 65 series to 18 SKUs covering rim diameters of 14 to 42 inches and the 70 series range to 27 SKUs covering rim diameters of 16 to 42 inches.
"Offering improved traction, increased stability, and reduced slip, the AgriXtra family of products allows Maxam to deliver a value-driven and comprehensive solution to farmers and growers globally," Greg Gilland, vice president of global agriculture at Maxam Tire, said.
Maxam backs the tires with an 8-year warranty.
